Information we collect
The information we process depends on how you use RipOne and the features you choose. It may include:
- account and profile information, such as your email address, display name, username, profile photo, internal account identifier, and sign-in provider identifier;
- content and social activity, such as audio recordings and other content you submit, challenges you create or join, votes, results, rankings, rewards, and friend or connection activity;
- settings and records of your choices, including language preferences, onboarding status, notification preferences, and your acceptance of legal documents;
- device and notification information, such as device identifiers, platform, app version, Firebase installation identifier, push-notification token, and notification delivery status;
- usage, technical, and security information, such as feature interactions, analytics events, IP address, user agent, request times, error information, and server logs; and
- communications you send to us, including support requests, feedback, and related contact information.
Audio recordings and other user content
RipOne needs access to your device microphone only when you choose to record audio. Recordings and other content you submit are uploaded to provide challenges, voting, playback, results, and related social features. Do not record or upload another person unless you have all permissions and consents required by law.
Content intended for a challenge, battle, profile, ranking, or other social feature may be available to the users who can access that feature. Depending on the feature and your settings, this can include your username, profile photo, recording, challenge details, votes, and results. Please avoid including sensitive personal information in content you share.
Information from sign-in providers
If you sign in with a third-party provider such as Google or Apple, that provider authenticates you and may give RipOne basic profile information permitted by you and the provider, such as your name, email address, profile photo, and a provider-specific account identifier. We do not receive the password for your third-party account. The provider processes information under its own privacy policy.
How we use information
We use personal information to:
- create, authenticate, maintain, and secure your account;
- provide recording, challenge, matching, friendship, voting, ranking, reward, and notification features;
- display your profile and content to other users as required by the social features you use;
- remember your settings and personalize your experience;
- operate, troubleshoot, protect, and improve RipOne;
- respond to support requests and communicate important service or policy updates; and
- prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents, enforce our terms, and comply with legal obligations.
Legal bases for processing
Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation or similar law applies, we process information as necessary to perform our contract with you and provide RipOne; based on our legitimate interests in securing, maintaining, and improving the service; to comply with legal obligations; and, where required, with your consent. You may withdraw consent at any time, but withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before it was withdrawn.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information in the following circumstances:
- to other RipOne users when you use social features or make profile information and content available to them;
- to service providers that support authentication, cloud hosting, storage, content delivery, analytics, push notifications, security, and technical operations, including Google and Firebase services;
- when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, Abstract Vision, or others; and
- as part of a merger, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards.
Permissions and your choices
RipOne may request microphone permission to create audio recordings and notification permission to send challenge, content, account, or service updates. You can deny or revoke these permissions in your device settings. Features that depend on a permission will not work without it.
You can choose what content to submit, manage available profile and notification settings, sign out, or stop using RipOne. You may also disconnect RipOne from a third-party sign-in provider through that provider's settings; doing so does not by itself delete your RipOne account.
Retention and deletion
We retain account information and user content while your account is active and for as long as reasonably necessary to provide RipOne. We may keep limited information longer when required for legal compliance, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, security, or enforcement of our agreements. Backup copies may remain for a limited period before being overwritten.
You can request deletion of your RipOne account and associated personal information by contacting us at privacy@abstract-vision.com. We will delete or anonymize information unless we have a lawful reason to retain it. Content or messages shared with other users may remain visible where keeping them is necessary to preserve a shared conversation, challenge, vote, or transaction record, but we will remove or de-identify them where reasonably possible.
Uninstalling the app removes data stored by the app on that device but does not automatically delete your RipOne account or information held by our service providers.
International data transfers
Abstract Vision is based in Croatia. Some service providers may process information in other countries, including countries outside the European Economic Area. Where required, we use recognized safeguards for these transfers, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information; to restrict or object to certain processing; to withdraw consent; and to data portability. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. In Croatia, the supervisory authority is the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency (AZOP).
To exercise a privacy right, contact privacy@abstract-vision.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. These rights may be limited where an exception under applicable law applies.
Children's privacy
RipOne is not intended for children under 13. If local law requires parental or guardian consent for a user under the age of majority, the user must have that consent before using RipOne. If you believe a child has provided personal information without the required consent, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including authenticated access and safeguards provided by our hosting and platform services. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Please protect your device and third-party sign-in account and notify us if you suspect unauthorized access.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as RipOne changes or legal requirements evolve. We will post the updated policy with a new effective date and, when required, provide additional notice in the app or ask for your consent.
